As a Ward Catering Assistant, you will support ward teams to enhance patient experience during hospital stays by delivering inpatient meal services that uphold standards of nutrition and hydration, reduce food waste, and maximize efficiency.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Providing a professional, patient-focused meal service while maintaining hygiene and safety standards.
2. Ensuring compliance with operational procedures, waste management policies, hygiene legislation, facilities management standards, and HACCP protocols.
3. Participating in staff involvement groups to support the Trust's Quality Strategy.
4. Managing equipment safely and adhering to risk management practices.
5. Monitoring hygiene and cleanliness standards according to national guidelines.
6. Attending training and refresher courses as part of ongoing personal development.
7. Guiding and supporting new and existing staff members.
8. Managing resources effectively, including stock levels, chemical use, and minimizing food wastage.
