This is an onsite support services role to provide technical support of IT projects, incidents, and requests to several large Advania UK clients and to also, as required, provide technical support and guidance to end users and colleagues. The role focuses on IT hardware replacement, packaging and keeping asset records updated. The Field Engineering role forms part of a team supporting clients at main site locations. The budgeted salary for this role is £40,000 plus car allowance.
Health and safety and compliance requirements apply as part of standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
* Deliver or partially deliver related project tasks, incidents, and functional user support as per customer requirements, under the guidance of the operations team.
* Ensure successful delivery, sign-off and handover to support services post-project.
* Maintain accurate documentation including asset information and configurations.
* Allocate and log time to tasks and projects in a detailed manner; take ownership of tickets through to resolution.
* Update incidents, requests, and project tasks in the ticket management system as required.
* Support the onsite team, troubleshoot, maintain, and support end users with hardware replacement.
* Travel to client locations within a large area as required and cover for absence or annual leave within the onsite team; overnight stays may be required.
Skills and qualifications
* Cloud technologies: Microsoft Intune and Azure.
* Productivity applications: Microsoft 365 & Office 365; print solutions and bespoke client software.
* Workstation hardware and software support for desktop operating systems and hardware.
* Peripherals: printers, access points, etc.
* Strong teamwork and ability to achieve personal and team objectives; undertake other tasks as assigned by management.
* Ambassador for Advania UK and the client; strong customer service orientation.
* Experience in laptop builds, mobile setup and hardware replacement; willingness to take ownership of IT queries to completion.
* Demonstrable experience in a relevant role; flexibility to work weekends and out-of-hours if required; good troubleshooting skills.
* Practical skills to mount monitors, set up equipment (training provided); full clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel to remote sites over a large area.
* Background checks may be required; BPSS and DBS checks sponsored by Advania UK where applicable.
