DIRECTOR OF LEGAL SERVICES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow the Legal function of a boutique professional services firm, delivering value to clients, the Legal team, and the business. The firm has four core disciplines: advisory, accountancy, legal, and tax, providing integrated services.
The Director of Legal Services role is central to the business, sits on the Board, reports to the Managing Director, and is part of the Senior Leadership team.
The Legal team includes three departments, each led by a Head of Department:
* Corporate/Commercial
* Employment & Immigration
* Litigation/IP & Art Law
Your main objectives include:
* Achieving revenue and profit targets through business development
* Leading and managing the Legal team
* Supporting clients with quality legal advice
* Maximizing team productivity
* Defining and executing departmental strategy
Requirements:
Growth-focused: You should thrive on business development, have an established SME network, and experience speaking at events. You must embody the company's values, represent the brand externally, and support SMEs, the business, and the team.
Legal expertise: Ideally legally qualified with expertise in Corporate or Commercial law. Your ability to assess client needs and deliver appropriate legal and commercial solutions is crucial. You should have a desire to grow your department and leverage your network for client acquisition.
Leadership: Experience leading a high-performing team and fostering an open, ambitious culture. Ability to think strategically and practically is essential.
Personal qualities: Curious, collaborative, commercial, and authentic. Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues is vital.
Successful candidates are technically skilled, entrepreneurial, adaptable to change, and confident in driving their growth.

* 8-10 years in relevant professional services

* Competitive salary: approximately £100k-£140k depending on experience
