Salary is £15,557 per year (Reduced Year - Term Time Only)
9-4.30pm Mon - Fri (38 weeks per year)
We are seeking two Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. The post holder will work closely with all staff in a role designed to help our learners’ progress during practical and theory lessons.
The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a wide range of study programmes, apprenticeships, and Higher Education (HE). From September, we will be delivering courses from entry to level 6. This role will be working with Further Education (FE) students.
This role will be predominantly based at Temple Newsam, but on occasion, there might be a requirement to work at other campuses such as Printworks or the University Centre. It includes supporting both practical and theory lessons within a department based in a working farm and historical estate. The successful candidate should like animals and be comfortable in a land-based, real-work environment.
What You Will Do
1. Support teachers in delivering practical and theory lessons.
2. Implement interventions for whole groups or individual learners to support their academic and developmental progress.
3. Build meaningful and impactful relationships.
4. Work positively and effectively as a team member and on own initiative.
About You
1. Experience and knowledge of supporting young people both academically and developmentally.
2. Experience of positively managing learner progress in an educational setting.
3. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
