Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00

We are seeking two passionate and driven Family Support Workers to join our Families First Service based at Ferryhill One Point Hub. This is a unique opportunity to support children, young people, and their families in creating positive, lasting change by providing tailored, practical help at critical moments in their lives.
🧩 Your Role As a Family Support Worker, you will:
Deliver intensive, hands-on support to families facing challenges such as poverty, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and more.
Work collaboratively with social workers, partners, and the wider support network to develop and deliver outcome-focused intervention plans.
Empower parents to meet their children’s needs, strengthen their parenting skills, and improve their confidence and resilience.
Advocate for families in engaging with relevant services and ensure their voices are central in care planning.You’ll be part of a proactive and supportive team that values creativity, empathy, and practical problem-solving in addressing complex social needs.
✅ What We’re Looking For Essential:
A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant children’s services field.
Recent experience working with vulnerable children and families in community or home settings.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
A good understanding of safeguarding, family dynamics, and early help approaches.
Ability to manage time effectively and work flexibly (including some weekend availability).Desirable:
Level 4 or higher qualifications in Social Care, Early Years, Education, or related areas.
Experience delivering evidence-based parenting interventions or group programmes.
