Role Overview
The GI, Germ Cell and Sarcoma Research Team is recruiting a Band 6 Research Nurse to support the conduct, coordination and delivery of the GI/GC and Sarcoma Research Portfolio at SJUH. This full‑time (1.0 WTE) role is a temporary 12‑month contract due to funding.
Key Responsibilities
* Take delegated responsibility for coordinating and delivering a portfolio of clinical research studies, ensuring high standards of patient‑focused care in line with Trust guidelines, policies and trial protocols.
* Provide ongoing advice and information to patients/volunteers to facilitate effective informed consent and maintain support throughout trials.
* Assist in assessing patients/volunteers for eligibility, monitoring their condition and coordinating trial investigations, treatments and procedures.
* Maintain and update knowledge of clinical and delivery aspects of supported research studies.
* Manage own portfolio of studies with minimal supervision and deliver trial treatments where applicable.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (Level 1–2) – RN Adult or RN Child, or Midwife or HCPC listed practitioner.
* Clinical Research Practitioner registration (including AHCS) or equivalent recognised teaching/assessing qualification.
Experience
* Experience in clinical research or patient care within oncology settings.
* Experience coordinating trial protocols and delivering patient treatments.
