This is an exciting new role in the Trading team, offering a perfect opportunity for the right candidate to develop a career in the Energy Trading sector. The successful candidate will support our Trading team in managing wholesale energy market positions and optimizing renewable energy PPAs. The role is suited for someone with strong analytical skills, an interest in energy markets, and a passion for sustainable energy.
You will work on trading data analysis, risk management, and PPA optimization, contributing to smart trading decisions and supporting the transition to a greener grid.
Key Responsibilities
1. Trading & Market Analysis
o Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to influence decision-making at various levels.
o Create and maintain scenario tools and models to assess potential decision impacts.
o Develop robust reports and propose strategies for continual trading performance improvement.
o Make quick, rational decisions in a fast-paced trading environment and multitask effectively.
o Execute trades to provide adequate market coverage.
2. Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Management
o Assist in onboarding new renewable generators and ensure smooth integration into trading operations.
o Support management of Ecotricity’s PPA contracts.
o Analyze generation forecasts and market conditions to optimize PPA revenues and manage risks.
o Collaborate with Sales to support PPA sleeving.
3. Data & Process Improvement
o Develop and maintain dashboards for trading positions and PPA performance.
o Enhance internal collaboration between Trading, Pricing, and Finance teams.
o Automate trading reports, risk analytics, and market insights.

* Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI (or similar).
