Job overview
We are recruiting for a Team Leader‑Maternity Theatres who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Registered ODP / Registered Nurse is a vital and valued role to support in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patient/clients and their families/carers within the clinical / peri-operative environment. Based within the theatre team they work closely the multi-disciplinary team in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care, staff and service development.
We have a new role available as Scrub Theatre Team Leader. This post requires candidates to have an all-round knowledge of elective (Vascular, Orthopaedics, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynae, Plastics, Robotics, ENT and General Surgery) and emergency procedures to join our Scrub Team within theatres.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will continuously maintain health, safety and control of Infection in clinical work areas.
You will assist in the care for patients undergoing Elective & Emergency Caesarean Sections.
You will receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.
The successful candidate will ensure equipment, supplies and waste is kept to a minimum.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and comfort of women.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the multidisciplinary team, women and relatives.
Plan, implement and evaluate the peri-operative care of the women as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications/Training
* Registered Nurse or Registered ODP
* Must be willing to undertake post registration courses as advised by the Practice Educators/Theatre Team Leaders
* ILS / PILS
Previous Experience
* Relevant experience in either an inpatient or day surgery theatre, maternity theatre or other relevant clinical area
* Peri-operative practice, skilled in recovery and scrub
* Gained through undertaking Relevant study
* Experience of providing clinical support outside of the theatre area
Skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Can Organise and prioritise
* Ability to demonstrate initiative
* Flexible
* Clear written and spoken English
* Can perform in the role of scrub and circulating assistant
* Has relevant experience within maternity or gynecology surgery
* Can effectively and efficiently run a theatre list
Knowledge
* Aware of the National 6 C’s campaign
