This is a FTC opportunity for a Proposal Coordinator within Bristol City Leap’s Development Team. The team assesses the technical and financial viability of installing low carbon energy systems within Bristol City Council’s corporate estate, other public sector buildings and businesses across the city. Technologies deployed include energy efficiency retrofits, solar PV, heat pumps and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The Proposal Coordinator will provide technical, financial, communications and administrative support to project managers. The role requires the post holder to apply theoretical concepts, practical expertise, and experiential knowledge to projects; as well as having exceptional organisation skills. This role is an exciting opportunity for learning, teamwork, autonomy, and growth within a workplace.
The post holder will have the ability to work flexibly and cooperatively as part of a team and the ability to work with limited supervision, but to recognise the need to seek advice or guidance as necessary. The post holder should have a keen interest in energy saving measures. There may be the occasional requirement to support Ameresco’s projects in other locations with associated travel.
The Proposal Coordinator may be required to work on a variety of client projects at any one time depending on the size and scope of the work. There may be opportunities for involvement in the subsequent delivery of projects.
This position is based in Bristol City Leap’s offices in Bristol, United Kingdom, with some flexibility to work from home
Job Duties
The duties of a Proposal Co-Ordinator include:
1. Supporting the development of business cases, project budgets and delivery plans in collaboration with colleagues.
2. Answering emails, taking inbound calls and making outbound calls to customers to support the development of projects.
3. Managing enquiries, including data capture and preparation of responses, from stakeholders and potential customers including Local Authorities, businesses and members of the public.
4. Monitoring and reporting on the progress of programmes and projects to stakeholders and customers.
5. Arranging meetings with key stakeholders, customers and community groups, supporting meetings by minute taking and production of action logs.
6. Supporting customers through the customer journey, ensuring work is complete and customers are communicated with throughout.
7. Where relevant, supporting Development Engineers and Project Managers in project delivery including site visits where required.
8. Recording and reporting financial information, raising purchase orders, monitoring spend and checking invoices.
9. Project management of small-scale projects if required, e.g. small pilot projects, ancillary work.
10. Completing day-to-day tasks supporting the successful operation of projects, e.g. monitoring of live assets such as EV charge points, progressing live faults by interacting with suppliers, and monitoring service levels.
11. Supporting the Development team in the application of good project management principles.
The ideal candidate will possess
12. Experience of supporting the development of projects and administrative activities.
13. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
14. Customer service experience including engaging, working with and managing customers.
15. The ability to think analytically, with the ability to critically assess requirements and select "best fit" approach to meeting company and client objectives.
16. IT literate with demonstrable Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, GIS and MS Project.
17. A keen interest in energy and sustainability .

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and have a flexible approach to work. They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete tasks within deadlines.
They should be able to communicate effectively with a friendly and courteous manner, establishing and maintaining good relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels. The job requires the ability to work well as part of a team but also independently using their own initiative where appropriate.
