The business is a market leader within its sector, delivering high-quality forged and heat-treated products to customers across demanding industries. Due to continued growth and expansion, they are looking to recruit a Materials Engineer / Metallurgist to strengthen their technical team.
In this role you will provide metallurgical expertise across forging and heat treatment operations, investigate test failures, support quality and production teams, and contribute to continuous improvement projects. You will also work closely with customers, estimating, and internal departments to ensure technical excellence throughout the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate will be a Materials Engineer / Metallurgist with strong knowledge of metallurgical principles, manufacturing processes, and experience within a forging, heat treatment, or ferrous manufacturing environment who is looking to progress their career.

The Role:
* Process control across forging and heat treatment operations
* Investigating mechanical test failures and producing corrective / rework plans
* Monitoring trends, identifying root causes, and implementing preventative actions
* Performing metallography for routine testing and failure investigations
* Supporting quality with audits, non-conformance investigations, and SOP reviews
* Providing technical support to customers, estimating, sales, and production teams
* Assisting with R&D and continuous improvement projects
* Ensuring compliance with HSE and environmental procedures
The Person:
* Metallurgical, Materials or Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC / Degree or similar)
* Experience within forging, heat treatment, or ferrous manufacturing environments preferred
* Strong understanding of metallurgical principles and failure investigation techniques
