PAYE Rate: £24.34 per hour + £3.54 holiday pay (up to £8/ph more for non local candidates)

Location: Govan, Glasgow NC Programmer (Senior Manufacturing Engineer)
Morson is currently recruiting an experienced NC Programmer, to join BAE Systems on a 12month contract, at their Govan shipbuilding site.
This is a hands-on, full-time onsite role, offering the chance to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes and play a key part in the delivery of high-profile projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Developing CNC and robot welding programs for manufacturing and fabrication shops at both sites.
* Supporting the introduction and ramp-up of a new panel line, including CNC programming and workstation setup.
* Creating manufacturing instructions aligned with new production methods.
* Leading programming projects and acting as a Technical Specialist while managing multiple stakeholders.
* Collaborating with the Engineering team on design changes impacting production.
* Performing cost-benefit analyses for continuous improvement initiatives, helping optimise manufacturing processes.
* Improving and maintaining dimensional data capture and accuracy in steelwork and manufacturing operations.
Health & Safety:
You'll take an active role in maintaining high standards of safety, health, and environmental (SHE) performance. This includes following all instructions, training, and reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.
What We're Looking For:
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
* Online and offline CNC programming experience.
* Experience working with 3D modelling software.
Essential Skills:
* Experience in an industrial engineering environment.
* Proficient in ISO G-Code.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
* Background in continuous improvement systems (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred).
* Knowledge of tooling selection for CNC program optimisation.
* Experience with make vs. buy decisions and cost-benefit analysis.
* Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills.
* Automation and robotics experience.
* Data analysis skills (e.g. Minitab, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:
* CAD drawing experience.
* CPCS Appointed Person (A61) blue card.
* Rigging and fleeting experience.
* Strong computer literacy.
