The team of over 180 Engineers, Consultants, Project Managers and Project Developers deliver projects on behalf of Clients from our offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Livingston and Biggar in Scotland as well as Calgary and Halifax in Canada and Amersfoort in the Netherlands. Green Cat has grown steadily over its 20 years of existence and has ambitious plans for further growth.
A vacancy has arisen within the Management Team for a Finance Director to provide support to the Management Team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a hands-on leadership role that combines high level strategy with operational oversight to shape strategic direction within a robust financial framework across the business.
Key Responsibilities will primarily involve the following:
* Oversee the financial strategic planning of the company by evaluating its performance and potential risks.
* Developing all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control of the group
* Oversee and advise on tax planning at both group and company level
* Oversee the audit process, working with the companies' external auditors to ensure efficient delivery
* Monitor financial performance and provide regular analysis and detailed reporting
* Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards
* Manage and advise on cash flow and investments
* Identify opportunities for cost saving and process improvements
* Support strategic initiatives at group and company level
* Establish targets and manage all accounting and finance employees.
* Recognise patterns in company spending, revenue and where performance may be improved.
* Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company.
The Candidate
The candidate should have the following:
* Qualified Accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles in similar environment
* In-depth knowledge of accounting software, corporate principles, and financial analysis.
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Knowledge of the industry is desirable
* Knowledge of Project Finance is desirable
