SEN Teacher - Upper KS2 Experienced SEN Teacher (Year 5/6), April 2025 Start, Long-term, Full-time, Competitive Salary based on experience. Job Description: Hays Education is collaborating with a large SEN school in Manchester, renowned for its outstanding support for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex needs. We are seeking an experienced and passionate upper KS2 class teacher to join our team after Easter 2025.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a class of 11 pupils, supported by experienced teaching assistants and a dedicated leadership team. You will plan, resource, and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with our bespoke curriculum. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of Year 5/6 pupils.
Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other staff members. Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues. Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching pupils with SLD and complex needs. Experience working within a KS2 setting is useful but not essential.
An up-to-date DBS or willingness to obtain one. Ability to provide an inspiring, engaging, and safe learning environment.
