What You’ll Be Doing
* Provide expert HR advice across a wide range of employee relation cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and capability – ensuring fair, consistent and legally sound outcomes.
* Own ER case work end‑to‑end, offering proactive support and coaching to managers and helping to build confidence and capability in handling sensitive people matters.
* Champion the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding and development to exit, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive colleague experience.
* Coach and upskill managers to strengthen their people management skills, especially in ER capability and confident decision‑making.
* Partner with operational teams to build strong, trust‑based relationships and foster a culture of accountability, fairness, and open communication.
* Use ER data and insights to identify trends, inform decisions, and drive continuous improvement in policies, processes, and manager training.
* Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies, applying a pragmatic and balanced approach that protects both the business and its people.
* Manage HR administration with precision and care – strong organisation and record‑keeping are essential, especially in a fast‑paced environment without a case management system.
* Contribute to wider HR initiatives, bringing fresh ideas, a strategic mindset, and a passion for improving the colleague experience.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
* Proven experience in an HR Advisor role with broad exposure across the full employee lifecycle.
* Strong knowledge of Employment Law and practical experience handling ER cases end‑to‑end.
* Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and influencing skills across all levels.
* Confident using HR systems – we use Workday (HRIS), PageUp (ATS), Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
* A data‑driven and commercially minded approach to problem solving.
* The ability to balance operational delivery with strategic thinking.
* A full UK driving licence (essential) and willingness to travel regularly across the region.
* Experience in the logistics or distribution sector would be advantageous.
