We are recruiting on behalf of a warm and inclusive primary school in Folkestone for a Communication Support Worker to support a deaf child in Reception (Year R) on a one-to-one basis. Position Details: Start Date: 9th June 2025 End Date: End of July 2025 Hours: 9:00am – 2:00pm (Monday to Friday) Location: Folkestone, Kent Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored communication support, including British Sign Language (BSL) if qualified, to help the child access the full curriculum Work closely with class teachers, the SENDCO, and external hearing support services Foster the child’s language development, confidence, and engagement within the classroom and during social times Requirements: Previous experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired children in an educational setting Knowledge of or qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) is highly desirable A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s early educational journey while working as part of a supportive and committed team.
