About The Role
At Salvation Army Homes, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, good quality housing services, support, and resettlement.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is attracted to working occasional shifts or for short-term periods in a mental health support setting.
Covering for absences of Mental Health Support Workers through various reasons such as annual leave, vacant posts, training, sickness, etc., you will:
1. Provide 1:1 and group support
2. Support clients with attending appointments
3. Assist with shopping
4. Support clients in attending activities
5. Assist with medication, where required
6. Liaise with external agencies including health professionals
You will also be involved in helping to deliver activities designed to transition clients to independent living, all to help deliver a holistic mental health support service.
Successful candidates will be required to work in St Andrews in Exmouth and Culverlands in Exeter, covering a range of shifts including sleep-ins and weekends. Shifts can vary from 0800-1600, 1200-2000, 1000-1800, and 0900-2230 at both services.
About The Candidate
You will have a working knowledge of the needs and support requirements of people with complex mental health needs or experience in another social care setting.
