Key Results 37. 5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm, working 1 in 4 weekends. Summary responsibilities Ensure the safe, effective and meaningful delivery of holistic care, activities, well-being services and overall experience of our residents meeting their unique needs. First point of contact to resolve queries/concerns from residents, their families, and colleagues. Support and welcome new residents to the unit by assisting with pre-admission assessments (non-clinical), settling in process and daily reviews (including dementia assessments). Undertake clinical assessments (with Registered Nurse) and carry out diagnostic observations. Complete audits, care plans and behaviour charts. Undertake day to day care tasks as required. Leadership and line management of Care Assistants and Seniors and all associated processes. Support with budget management, monitoring and reporting. Skills and Experience Communication Interprets and explains information to others. Provides and receives some complex, sensitive or contentious information. Persuasive, motivational, empathetic, reassuring skills. Confident negotiator. Shares knowledge and trains others on the job. Communicates openly and often with immediate and related teams. Objective review of complex matters. Thinking Style Analyses complex facts or situations. Plans and organises a range of complex and interlinked activities and tasks (project planning). Uses sophisticated technical and problem-solving skills to enhance service area/discipline. Regular report writing, data analysis and recommending actions. Develops and maintains policies and procedures in own discipline. Aware of longer term impact of decisions. Leadership As relevant, contribute to colleagues’ performance reviews. Manages recruitment and retention (engagement) activities. May be responsible for coaching, advising, onboarding, delegating to colleagues. Monitors workflows. Motivates, inspires and drives colleagues to meet the needs/demands of the role. Project planning skills. Data management, processing information and analysis skills. People management skills. Other Skills and Qualifications Essential Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) Level 2 in Understanding the Safe Handling of Medication in Social Care (or equivalent) Confident and competent in workplace assessment/Care Certificate assessor Experience of working with older people, those with a disability, and/or dementia Experience of working in a nursing home/hospital/sheltered housing/social care setting in a supervisory/management capacity Confident with using IT and an advanced understanding of Word/Email First Aid (first responder) qualification Knowledge of manual handling and food and hygiene practices Desirable Level 3 qualification in Leadership/Management (or equivalent) or willing to work towards (essential) Additional information Duties must be carried out in compliance with St Monica Trust’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.
