The PTI (formerly The Prince’s Teaching Institute) is a successful education charity that supports teachers in primary and secondary schools in England and Wales. It runs several membership programmes and hundreds of subject specific events per year for all types of teacher and is the UK’s leading provider of in-service subject specific training.
The PTI is now looking for two ambitious and high calibre new or recent graduates. The ideal candidates will be well-organised and eager to develop in their careers. They will be passionate about the power of education to transform young people’s lives. You will be part of a highly motivated and supportive team who are developing and planning programmes and events that inspire teachers and strengthen their teaching. These are exciting opportunities for two people wishing to gain experience in a small and successful charity where you will be encouraged to think for yourself and take responsibility for a variety of projects. The successful candidates will have day-to-day contact with a wide variety of teachers, headteachers and other school staff. The successful applicants will join the full-time staff of fourteen and work closely with the PTI teacher leaders, and the full-time team led by Co-Director, Hugh Rayment-Pickard.
The charity is currently offering a hybrid office / working from home schedule, with some UK travel to assist running PTI events. All staff have the option to work at home on Mondays and Tuesdays, and are required in the office on Wednesdays – Fridays. All IT equipment will be provided, but a home internet connection will be needed should the successful applicants wish to work at home for a part of the week.

Key activities
Working in close co-operation with PTI Full-time staff and interns, the main areas of responsibility are:
Assist with the administration and events planning for The PTI’s programmes and assisting in all activities leading to the smooth-running of these events and programmes (Leadership, Subject Programmes, Primary Hubs, Certificate, Online). These could include any of the following:
Attending events in-person and online across England and Wales, including Residentials, Primary Hub events, New Teacher Subject Days courses (occasional Saturdays), Certificate Launches, eTutorials and third party events held in The Hintze Rooms, helping ensure the smooth-running of events
Assisting with the general administration of the charity in collaboration with colleagues, for example
* Scheduling executive, trustee and subcommittee meetings
* Overseeing stationery supplies etc
Dealing with enquiries related to the hire of the PTI’s event venue, The Hintze Rooms
Supporting the Communications Manager, for example:
* Writing blog posts and newsletter articles
* Drafting Tweets and assisting with social media
* Updating the PTI website
Supporting the Head of Core Programmes in the organising and running of the charity’s CPD programmes for teachers (Residentials, New Teacher Subject Days, CPD Subject Days and CPD Online courses), for example:
* Liaising with teachers leading the events
* Researching, inviting and liaising with speakers
* Delegate communications
* Running online CPD courses
* Co-ordinating logistics online and with external parties
* Assisting with marketing content for events
Supporting the expansion of PTI Primary Hubs, and PTI Unlimited membership
* Managing bookings and liaising with members and their schools
* Preparing for events (online and face-to-face)
* Hosting online sessions
* Editing and sharing resources from events
* Collating evaluation data
* Updating membership information and maintaining the CRM database
Supporting the Head of Fundraising, for example:
* Running information evenings and donor events, including management of invitations and guest-lists
* Drafting and ensuring correct acknowledgement/receipts/thank you letters are sent to donors
* Ensuring that Salesforce and donor databases are kept up-to-date
* Researching potential/new donors
