Mission of the position
The Production Line Manager (Manufacturing Programme Manager, MPM) is responsible for managing the production delivery a designated project; with a specific emphasis on delivering operational effectiveness and ensuring all elements of production are carried out to world class standards.
Functions and responsibilities
* To represent Manufacturing in the Core team during the series of manufacturing phase, taking responsibility for manufacturing costs, analysing them and reporting their forecasts to the Project Programme Manager.
* Responsible for compliance with deadlines for the Manufacturing activities based on the Program Plan, including reporting progress.
* Is available to work in at other CAF locations, including Zaragoza in Spain, during project industrialisation.
* Participates in the management of Risks and Opportunities within the Core Program Team.
* Complies with the responsibilities assigned in MGCAF process, in which he/she carries out his/her activities, in terms of Product Quality and Safety, Occupational Risk Prevention, and the Environment, in line with the role performed at any given time.
* Monitor the production process in line with the finite production schedule whilst focusing on right first time, and on-time delivery.
* Provide support in developing, reviewing, and monitoring the HSE Plan, objectives, and targets.
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement improvements to production activities to optimise results. Promote the effective use of team Kaizen boards and drive SCRA/CEDAC methodologies (problem solving techniques).
* Anticipate and address customer issues; implementing solutions that maintain good relations and world class service standards.
* Lead a high performing and motivated production line(s) by driving improved individual/team performance, ensuring training needs are identified and me
* Manage key business KPIs around QCD to deliver an effective output in line with the planned takt.
* Deliver positive leadership and promote the adoption of best-in-class.
* Coach and develop reports and team leaders based around the CAF production system. 14. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
* Ability to understand, learn and use IT systems. (Baan/SAP/PMT/Internal applications)
Required professional experience
Degree level in a relevant field or equivalent level qualification.
IEng membership of Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
Six Sigma qualification or equivalent.
