About This Role
* Ongoing, full-time position based at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct in Malmsbury.
* YJW2 role: $79,122 - $90,989 per year plus super.
* Provide supervision and training to young people engaged in Youth Justice industry offerings onsite.
* Plan, coordinate and oversee the delivery of day-to-day operations of industries, with a focus on developing vocational skills for young people.
* Facilitate and promote youth development activities, living and vocational skills, programs, activities, and events for young people in custody.
* Deliver industry and vocational training and work programs aligned with rehabilitation goals (e.g., hospitality, horticulture, warehousing and logistics).
* Maintain a safe and secure environment through applying knowledge from Operational Safety Training, risk assessment, and adherence to legislation, policies and procedures.
* In partnership with rehabilitation and behaviour support services, implement strategies addressing offending behaviour, reward pro-social behaviour, incentivise positive change, manage challenging behaviours and escalating issues.
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
* Relevant industry experience, together with appropriate qualifications or trade experience (desirable).
* Up-to-date knowledge of modern industry techniques and maintenance of industry equipment.
* Commitment to working with staff, young people and service providers in a whole-of-Justice approach to reducing re-offending.
* Computer skills and a working knowledge of department computer and data systems (preferred).
* Current statement of attainment for the first aid unit HTLAID011 Provide First Aid, to be obtained prior to commencement.
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
