We Build Recruitment are now looking to hire a Contracts Manager on behalf of our client, a North West based leader in complex groundworks, specialist drainage, utilities, and civil engineering for residential housing projects.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
* Set the highest leadership standards in promoting Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) best practices.
* Prepare and update detailed programmes of work and communicate with site teams and head office to ensure timely delivery.
* Lead weekly reviews on progress, safety, budgets, and planning with project teams.
* Liaise with Directors, Safety Advisors, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers to ensure effective coordination and achievement of project deliverables.
* Identify and fulfil resource and procurement requirements, maintaining budgetary control.
* Provide clear communication, mentorship, and structured reviews to all teams under management.
* Chair and attend internal and external pre-start, progress, commercial, and HSEQ meetings.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with client delivery and leadership teams.
Essential Competence & Training
* SMSTS
* NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Construction Site Management (or equivalent)
* CSCS Black Card
* Strong understanding of NHBC, LABC, and equivalent standards
* Proven experience in a Contracts or Senior Site Management role within groundworks or civil engineering
* Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
* Collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate teams and drive performance
* IT literate, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook
Desirable Competence & Training
* Experience operating as a Contracts Manager or Project Lead for large-scale housing or infrastructure developments
* NVQ Level 7 Diploma in Senior Construction Management
* Competent in Microsoft applications, including Project or similar programming software
