Job Description:
Nutmeg, the UK's leading digital wealth manager and a Morgan company, is expanding its team with a new Investment writer role. As an Investment writer within the investments division of Nutmeg, you will be responsible for translating expert investment insights and analysis into compelling, customer-centric thought leadership and educational investing content. You will bring strong stakeholder and project management skills to drive our investment content pipeline, from ideation through to publication and content measurement.
We are looking for a writer that combines technical brilliance in investing concepts with emotional intelligence and an understanding of consumer behaviour. The right candidate would be able to move fluently between the worlds of economist experts and customer experience designers—proactively leading conversations about financial market trends and content effectiveness.
Our content team is central to creating good customer experiences, so we're looking for people with a curious mindset, collaborative spirit, and passion for new technology. Our team members are solution-oriented, commercially savvy, and have a head for fintech.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Drive the thought leadership agenda proactively by staying up-to-date on financial markets, scanning for trends, distilling the Investment Team’s analysis, and finding angles that are interesting to our customers and stand out.
2. Partner with the Investment team, researchers, and senior subject matter experts across the business—communicating our content strategy clearly, requesting and coordinating timely content inputs, managing publication expectations, and closing the feedback loop.
3. Critically assess the value of insights we provide to customers, uphold our standards, and push the Investment Team to be highly customer-centric in their communication.
4. Manage the insights pipeline, communicate deadlines with stakeholders involved in content creation, review, and distribution to ensure schedules are met.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders from different departments—like PR, brand, legal, risk—to facilitate progress and influence content direction.
6. Promote the value of shareable, high-quality content across teams.
7. Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
8. Maintain and implement writing guidelines aligned with our brand and voice.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
* Demonstrable experience in investments or complex financial instruments, with a strong understanding of financial markets and macro, asset class, sector, and geographical trends.
* Ability to understand consumer needs and simplify complex investing concepts for relevance and clarity.
* Journalistic mindset—interrogative, confident, creative—capable of hosting interviews with senior experts to uncover key insights.
* Exceptional organization, collaboration, communication skills, and ability to build strong internal relationships.
* Proficiency in responding to and creating detailed briefs for content creation.
* High standards for content quality—balancing technical accuracy with storytelling and systems thinking.
* Comfort in shifting between strategic planning and hands-on content creation, with a focus on content performance and customer experience improvement.
* Data literacy—ability to interpret reports, charts, and tables, and make investing data accessible to customers.
* Experience working in an investment, asset management, or financial advice firm is preferred.
* Experience in digital content writing with SEO understanding.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
* Experience writing scripts for videos and podcasts.
