Education / Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable criteria
3. NVQ Level 3 / Diploma in Healthcare Science (or equivalent)
4. Training in ECG recording and ambulatory monitoring techniques
5. SCST Certificate in ECG (or willingness to work towards)
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
6. Experience working in a healthcare environment
7. Experience of patient contact
8. Understanding of patient care and clinical environments
Desirable criteria
9. Experience in cardiac diagnostics
10. Experience performing ECGs or using monitoring equipment
11. Awareness of common cardiac conditions and arrhythmias
12. Knowledge of Holter and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring systems
13. Basic knowledge of ECG acquisition and common abnormalities

14. Ability to perform ECG recordings accurately, or willingness to learn
15. Ability to perform technical tasks accurately
16. Ability to follow clinical protocols and procedures
17. Basic IT skills and ability to use electronic systems

20. Good organisational and time management skills
21. Ability to assess ECG trace quality and identify artefacts

22. Ability to assist in analysis of ambulatory monitoring data under supervision
23. Teaching or mentoring skills for supporting junior staff or students
24. Ability to undertake preliminary review of Holter recordings (following training)
