As a Logistics Store Lead at Serco, you’ll be part of a team that maintains and manages a fleet of gliders, including Viking and other contract-related aircraft. Your work will ensure engineers have the right equipment, at the right time, to keep aircraft mission-ready – contributing to training, safety and future capability across the RAF. What you’ll do as a Logistics Store Lead You’ll be entrusted to: Lead and supervise stores colleagues, providing line management and day-to-day oversight Receive, issue, control and account for equipment within Stores and engineering environments, in line with the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) Liaise directly with customers and stakeholders to coordinate quote approvals and priorities Source quotations for Schedule 2 items and non-routine demands, progressing Task Approval Forms (TAFs) with budget holders and the Delivery Team Onboard and manage suppliers, including guided buying compliance and Serco Onecard procurement Manage stock levels, spares provisioning and remote site requirements to meet forecast demand Oversee equipment repairs, overhaul activity and dangerous goods handling in line with MOD regulations Track demand status and key performance indicators (KPIs), flagging risks and providing updates through scheduled reviews Does this sound like you? You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have: Previous storekeeping experience within a logistics or engineering environment Knowledge of COSHH regulations and previous Dangerous Goods ADR qualification Experience using MJDI or similar logistics systems Proven experience leading a team and taking responsibility for operational delivery Strong communication skills, with confidence engaging face-to-face with customers A flexible, adaptable approach and the physical capability to meet manual handling requirements Vetting and checks: This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
