Overview
Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking Firmware (FPGA/SOC) Design Engineers to provide design/verification services to our client at their site in Crawley. The role is Hybrid – 3 days per week on site with additional periods on customer sites or integration facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Work within firmware teams to deliver projects on time, within cost and quality targets.
* Verify firmware using Hardware Verification Languages or Hardware Description Languages.
* Design firmware using Hardware Description Languages.
* Enhance firmware-related processes, including documentation, scripting, reporting and process automation.
* Collaborate closely with multi‑disciplinary teams.
Qualifications
* Degree level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
* HNC/HND acceptable if supported by significant demonstrable experience.
Essential Skills
* Strong verbal and written communication.
* Specialisation in one or more of the following:
o Verification testbench architecture (SystemVerilog or C++)
o Advanced VHDL verification
o OSVVM / UVVM methodologies
o Digital design in VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog
o Simulation using Mentor Graphics ModelSim/QuestaSim
o Object‑oriented design techniques
o Image processing algorithms
o Algorithm development with MATLAB
o Linux development environments
o Vendor‑specific FPGA/ASIC development tools
Experience
* Experience delivering complex designs in a similar role.
* Implementing FPGA/ASIC designs with vendor tools.
* Developing verification testbenches and architectures.
* Advanced VHDL or SystemVerilog verification.
* Algorithm development and/or image‑processing work.
* Experience with high‑speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, Serial, AXI4.
* Managing requirements using IBM Rational DOORS or similar.
