About the role
Sage Counselling is seeking a Trustee to help ensure our organization remains ethical, transparent, legal, and effective in serving our clients. Trustees play a vital role in guiding the organization’s future, improving services, and maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with governing documents, laws, and regulations.
* Help define and pursue the organization’s objectives.
* Manage resources responsibly, including financial and personnel assets.
* Contribute to strategic planning, including updating the business plan quarterly.
* Promote transparency, especially regarding finances.
* Support succession planning through standard operating procedures.

* Knowledge of legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship.
* Time and effort to fulfill trustee duties.

* Experience in legal, financial, funding, publicity, HR, IT, or education sectors is desirable.
* Experience in governance and volunteer coordination is a plus.
