The role & about the client:
ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a leading M&E contractor for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join their team in Sittingbourne. This contractor is renowned for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical installations across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and education.

As a Design Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to develop and coordinate design solutions that meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Producing detailed M&E design packages using industry-standard software
*
Developing load assessments, technical calculations, and system schematics
*
Collaborating with internal teams, consultants, and clients to coordinate design outputs
*
Attending project meetings and contributing to value engineering exercises
*
Supporting projects from initial concept through to final commissioning
*
Ensuring designs comply with current regulations and best practice standards
*
Maintaining accurate documentation and design revisions throughout the project lifecycle
The ideal candidate will have/be:
*
Previous experience as a Design Engineer within the M&E or building services industry
*
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant design software (e.g., Amtech, Hevacomp, Dialux)
*
A strong understanding of building services design principles and regulations
*
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
*
HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline)
*
A proactive, team-oriented approach and commitment to quality design
