Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the stroke therapy team based at Peterborough City Hospital. The overall stroke pathway comprises a HASU and ASU at Peterborough City Hospital and acute beds at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The position is mainly at Peterborough City Hospital, however flexibility will be required to provide cross‑site cover.
Key responsibilities
* Develop the quality of the clinical service and the staff who deliver it.
* Asses and treat a specialist complex caseload of patients using an enhanced level of practice and specialist knowledge and skills in stroke rehabilitation.
* Act as the profession‑specific lead to support the training and development of clinical staff within the Stroke therapy team and the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Lead on service development, audit and assist in research initiatives to deliver evidence‑based care in line with the trust and national priorities.
* Be responsible for the delivery of key quality performance indicators linked to providing high‑quality care.
* Manage a varied and complex clinical caseload.
* Provide regular clinical supervision, managerial support and training opportunities to ensure personal career development.
* Weekend and bank holiday working will be required.
Requirements
* Motivated, forward‑thinking candidate passionate about providing high‑quality stroke and neuro‑rehabilitation in line with evidence base and national guidelines.
* Experience in training, clinical leadership and strong communication skills to work alongside stakeholders from across the stroke pathway.
* Capacity to manage a varied and complex clinical caseload.
