Head of Early Help and Prevention First Response Adult Social Care
Location: Rochester, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
Sanctuary Personnel has a new permanent position available for a Head of Early Help & Prevention within the First Response Service to work full time based in Medway. Salary up to £73,241 per annum.
Responsibilities:
* Act as an active member of the Adult Social Care Leadership Team, leading the strategic and operational aspects of the 'front door' service in adult social care to maximise independence and enable people to live as ordinary a life as possible, leveraging community and voluntary sector resources, family and informal carers.
* Collaborate with health partners to ensure effective delivery of support to residents across health and social care, including hospital discharge and admission avoidance.
* Lead the strategic development of the service with a clear vision for early help and prevention services.
* Provide leadership, management, and professional advice on adult social care to deliver high-quality support and improve outcomes for people in Medway.
* Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to align strategies with broader organisational and health and social care system goals; monitor outcomes and adapt approaches based on evidence and best practices.
* Establish connections at local, regional, and national levels to shape and enhance strategic development and delivery of services; benchmark and network with other local authorities to embrace best practice.
* Manage people, delegated budgets, and other resources, using them innovatively to benefit service provision; balance risk and need within cash-limited budgets to deliver council objectives and best outcomes for service users and carers.
* Establish, monitor, and take corrective action on the performance of the long-term care & support service and demonstrate delivery of high-quality adult social care in Medway.
* As a member of the Adult Services Senior Leadership Team, actively lead in the strategic and operational management of the service and collaborate with colleagues.
* Assist and deputise for the Assistant Director of Adult Social Care and provide cover for other Head of Service as appropriate.
Requirements:
* A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
* NVQ Level 5 in Management or equivalent management qualification.
* Extensive management experience including management of change.
