Job Description:
We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to assist a 26-year-old woman in living an independent life. Responsibilities include domestic tasks, meal preparation, personal care upon request, community access, and administrative support.
* Housework
* Cooking healthy meals using fresh ingredients
* Assistance with dressing when requested
* Shopping and collecting items locally
* Reminding her to take medication
* Supporting with paperwork
Location: Norwich, NR5
Person Specification: Essential and desirable skills, competencies, and qualities will be assessed during application and interview. Please refer to these when applying.
* Enhanced DBS certificate
* Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
* First Aid trained
* Fluent English and good communication skills
* Female (due to personal care requirements)
* Experience with children with additional needs (ASD, ODD, ADHD)
* Experience with mental health issues (anxiety, depression)
* Knowledge of M.E/CFS and Fibromyalgia (desirable)
* No cats, dogs, or horses due to allergies; intolerant to guinea pigs
* Non-smoker preferred
* Attention to detail, knowledge of healthy eating and nutrition, cooking skills
* Friendly, passionate, kind
Terms and Conditions:
* Pay rate: £13.50/hour
* Hours: Flexible, 3 hours/week between 9am-3pm
* Holiday entitlement: 5.6 weeks' worth of work annually
* Free Care Skills Training provided
* Additional training and checks required: DBS, manual handling, chemical handling, food handling, annual training
Additional requirements: Satisfactory DBS check (cost covered), references from two referees, including current or last employer.
Services Provided: Meal preparation, personal care, domestic care, social and leisure activities, support for independence.
Training: Safeguarding, understanding challenging behaviour, food hygiene, first aid, autism/Asperger's.
Transportation: Full UK driving license and own car required.
Schedule and Pay: 3 hours/week, £13.50/hour, weekly pay approx. £41.
