AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to be based out of our Atlanta, GA office to work on projects involving the structural design of buildings and structures for a wide variety of clients in multiple industries. This position will support the Building & Places (B+P) organization both domestically and internationally. The role will provide expertise in Buildings and Facilities Engineering, structural design methods, and practices within this discipline.
AECOM's Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and environmental engineering. Our teams have worked on signature projects with clients such as Georgia Ports Authority, MARTA, Data Centers, FAA, NASA, and many Fortune 500 companies. Projects could include stations, towers, laboratories, data centers, fuel storage tanks, and more.
Responsibilities
1. Serving as lead project structural engineer on various building types and sizes.
2. Providing technical input to studies and structural design.
3. Training and knowledge sharing with junior staff.
4. Communicating complex technical solutions to clients.
5. Conducting site visits for construction progress.
6. Performing quality control reviews of work.
7. Participating in development of technical proposals.
8. Reviewing standards and regulations for structural design.
9. Ensuring compliance with client standards.
10. Organizing workload and working independently under supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering + 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
2. Registered Professional Engineer (PE in Structural Engineering).
3. US Citizenship and recent experience with Buildings and Facilities design projects.
4. Experience with structural design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, RAM, or RISA.
5. AutoCAD and Revit experience are highly desirable.
6. 10 years of experience in structural building development projects preferred.
7. Experience with large and complex projects.
8. Hybrid work model requiring 2 days/week in the office.
