Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work within a Newcastle based alternative provision.
Pupils at this school have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs; therefore, experience working with SEMH or other vulnerable individuals would be highly beneficial.
The school is built on strong values that focus on giving young people a fresh start and supporting their journey back into mainstream education wherever possible.
When a return to mainstream education is not achievable, the school is committed to delivering a high-quality curriculum that offers equal opportunities and closely mirrors those of a mainstream setting.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be wiling to obtain one
* Have experience of working in a transferable role
* Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
* Follow personalised curriculum and care plans to meet pupil’s requirements
* Participate in the planning and implementation of the child’s curriculum through lesson planning
* Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil
