The Role
Daniel Owen are currently recruiting for a skilled Gas Engineer to join a busy and growing team based in Birmingham.
This role involves carrying out planned central heating installations, servicing, and maintenance across social housing properties. This is an initial 12-week temporary position with a strong opportunity to move into a permanent role.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay Rate: Up to £25 per hour (temporary)
Permanent Salary: £36,000 per annum
A company van and fuel card will be provided, covering the South Birmingham area.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out day-to-day repairs, servicing, and maintenance on heating systems
2. Complete works within void properties, including refurbishments and renewals
3. Perform cooker point alterations and radiator relocations
4. Aim to achieve first-time fix on all jobs while working within time and budget constraints
5. Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical standards and legal requirements
What We're Looking For
Essential:
7. Valid Gas Safe Registration
8. Current CCN1 and CEN1 gas qualifications
9. Full UK driving licence
10. Strong experience in gas servicing and maintenance
Desirable:
11. Additional gas qualifications (HTR1, CKR1, MET1, WAT1)
12. CSCS card and HAPS test certification
13. NVQ or City & Guilds in Heating Engineering or Plumbing
