We are recruiting LGV Multi-Skilled Driver Puller Loaders to support the rollout of food waste collections across the Borough. This is a key frontline role combining LGV driving, team leadership, and operational support across waste collection and street cleansing services.
About the Role
You will:
* Lead and motivate your crew to deliver daily waste and recycling collections safely and on time
* Operate LGV vehicles in compliance with legal and safety requirements, including daily checks and defect reporting
* Transport waste to authorised disposal sites within approved weight limits
* Support wider cleansing duties such as mechanical road sweeping, fly-tip clearance, bin washing, gritting, flood response, and other seasonal tasks
* Complete electronic records and documentation (e.g. crew sheets, incident reports, in-cab systems such as Bartec)
* Provide professional, customer-focused service to residents
* Assist with training new or temporary staff
* Act as a key holder when required
Flexibility is essential, including overtime, Bank Holidays, weekend working, and on-call duties.
What We’re Looking For
* GCSE-level education (or equivalent)
* Category C Driving Licence
* Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
* Digital Tacho Card (desirable)
* Experience operating LGV vehicles in waste, recycling, or street sweeping (advantageous)
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Confident using tablets and electronic systems
* Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
* Committed to high standards of Health & Safety and public service
