Due to the industries we work in, we require the successful candidate to be able to obtain high-level security clearance. To qualify for this, you must be a British citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
Digital Skills are in search of an experienced Test Team Lead to guide a client's QA teams and ensure the delivery of their testing services. In this role, you’ll lead and develop a team of testers, providing direction, support, and mentorship to drive excellence across all testing activities.
You’ll collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to define effective test strategies and ensure testing is aligned with business and technical objectives. While this is not a hands-on testing role, it requires a strong technical understanding to make informed decisions, assess risks, and ensure robust quality practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and support the QA team to ensure effective and consistent testing practices.
* Oversee day-to-day testing activities and ensure projects meet agreed quality standards and timelines.
* Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and test coverage.
* Review and validate test deliverables, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Track and report on testing progress, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
* Drive continuous improvement in QA processes and team performance.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience leading or managing a QA/test team in an agile environment.
* Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and QA processes.
* Ability to guide teams in both manual and automated testing approaches (awareness of automation tools such as Selenium).
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across teams.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Extensive experience with both Jira & Confluence.
Preferred:
* Knowledge of API testing (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) or database testing (SQL).
* Experience in testing web, mobile, or enterprise applications.
* Familiarity with performance or security testing concepts.
* Experience with Java, Selenium, AWS, Jenkins.
