Your duties and responsibilities will be - Support the development, implementation, management and ongoing improvement of the safety, health and environmental management system in line with legislation and best practice - Contribute to the development of health, safety and environmental training and awareness programmes - Support behavioural based safety initiatives and safety culture improvement activities - Carry out site and office inspections and audits, working with management teams to ensure legal, client and internal standards are met - Provide clear recommendations for corrective and preventive actions - Assist with the investigation, recording and analysis of incidents, near misses and close calls - Manage and maintain health, safety and environmental performance data to identify trends and support effective responses - Support the development and delivery of occupational health and wellbeing campaigns - Provide health and safety input into tenders, pre qualifications and work winning activities - Support the implementation of the wider business strategy as it relates to health and safety - Always act with integrity and professionalism when discharging health and safety duties - Work collaboratively with employees, management, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders - Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role to support business needs You will have the following qualifications & experience: - NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent - Experience working in a health, safety and environment role within a construction or project based environment - Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice - Experience carrying out audits, inspections and incident investigations - Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels - Competent in managing data, reporting findings and identifying trends It’s great if you also have the following - NEBOSH Construction Certificate - Membership of IOSH or working towards professional status - Experience supporting tender or pre qualification submissions - Experience delivering training or safety briefings - Interest in behavioural safety and wellbeing initiatives The setting for the role The role is based across head office and live project environments, requiring regular engagement with project teams, management and external stakeholders. You will work in both office and site settings and will be required to use personal protective equipment when carrying out site duties.
