Offer description

We are looking for a high‑calibre individual to join our Student Support Services team as a Mental Health Advisor. This is a permanent, full‑time position based at our London Bloomsbury campus. The role involves supporting students through our online provision as well as on‑site services.

This hybrid position requires a minimum of two days on campus per week. The role covers the entire student population, including UK and international students, and will involve occasional travel to other campuses.

Closing date for applications: 11th June 2026. Interviews will be conducted on 15th June at our London Bloomsbury Campus.


Responsibilities

* Provide specialist confidential mental health support to students referred by academic and business professionals.
* Maintain a caseload of complex mental health cases, ensuring risk is managed in line with University policies.
* Collaborate with Student Support Services colleagues to promote mental wellbeing within the university community.
* Develop clear pathways for referrals within the department and to external groups.
* Offer expert advice, support and training to University staff in supporting students with mental health issues.


Qualifications & Experience

* Recognised and current mental health nursing, mental health social work or a related qualification or experience.
* Recent experience working in a mental health setting such as IAPT, CMHT, or a university/college mental health team.
* Experience managing a complex caseload of clients with varying mental health conditions.
* Knowledge of the mental health needs of young adults and students in higher education, and how to refer cases into NHS and voluntary sector bodies.
* Expertise in undertaking mental health needs and risk assessments.
* Ability to work flexibly in response to crises, including flexible hours and locations.
