Overview
An exciting opportunity for a part time (30 hours per week) Band 6 Occupational Therapist has arisen within the Early Intervention Service in the Trafford directorate of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH).
The post holder will deliver holistic occupational therapy assessments and interventions to service users under the Trafford Early Intervention Service, establishing levels of function, identifying engagement in roles and meeting their values, evaluating and reducing risk, and facilitating occupational performance to support recovery and enable the individual to live and thrive within their community. This may also include completion of occupational therapy assessments to support applications for housing and/or support packages.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions following clinical pathways.
* Manage a defined caseload within the Early Intervention Service, using evidence-based and client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions while maintaining accurate records.
* Provide care coordination for a defined group of service users.
* Support and supervise the IPS employment worker.
* Provide professional advice and consultation to other MDT members, junior staff and support staff.
* Regularly supervise occupational therapy students on placements.
* Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the Early Intervention and OT Service, holding responsibility for designated projects.
* Abide by the RCOT and HCPC Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
Additional Information
All positions within the Trust are subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks. Post holders requiring a DBS must subscribe to the DBS Update Service, incurring a fee of £16 per year.
