Where will you be working?
M Group Rail and Aviation.
Our Rail team manages a wide range of specialist rail engineering works and projects, delivering civils, track, power, electrical solutions, and station structures across all rail routes in the UK.
What will you be doing?
* Monitor the performance of staff and multiple site activities.
* Prepare tenders, ensuring competitive processes with adequate resources for health, safety, and environmental issues.
* Control contract budgets to ensure commercial success, managing costs according to company procedures.
* Monitor site safety through inspections and review findings with Project Managers.
* Ensure efficient resource management for safe, high-quality delivery with minimal environmental risk.
* Understand contract obligations and commitments.
* Monitor activities to log reimbursable costs and disruptions as per contract requirements.
* Implement systems for competent labour and sub-contractor management.
* Coordinate with client project teams to deliver the required end product.
* Provide monthly safety and performance briefings to staff and labour.
* Produce monthly reports for the Management Team and attend meetings.
* Stay updated with legislation and industry trends.
* Develop estimates and tenders, either independently or as part of a team.
* Build long-term relationships with clients to maintain repeat business.
What you’ll bring
* Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
* Commitment to high standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.
* Proven contract management experience from tender to completion.
* Level 5 Leadership & Management (preferable).
* Thorough understanding of CDM roles and SHEQ duties.
* Ability to assess risks, including railway-related risks.
* Experience managing delivery teams across various contracts.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* PTS Certification.
* Environmental awareness.
* Desire for self-development and continuous improvement.
* Alignment with Dyer and Butler’s values and behaviors.
* CSCS Black/White card (preferable).
