Job Title – Regional Operational Support Manager
Location – Devon & Cornwall
Reports to – Depot General Manager
Pay – £40,000 to £45,000 per annum
Dash Express is a leading logistics provider in the South-West, committed to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. As our Regional Operational Support Manager, you will provide multi‑site operational support and managerial cover across our depots, ensuring consistent performance, compliance, and service delivery. This role supports depot teams during periods of absence, high demand, or operational pressure and plays a key part in driving efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction across the region.
Duties & Responsibilities
* ·Provide on-site managerial cover across multiple depots, ensuring continuity of leadership and operational stability during planned and unplanned absences.
* Lead and manage the operations team, including drivers and support staff, to achieve service targets and KPIs.
* Oversee daily planning and scheduling of pallet deliveries, collections, and trunking routes.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, driver hours regulations, and company policies.
* Monitor vehicle checks, maintenance schedules, and fleet utilisation.
* Manage resource allocation, including staffing levels, shift patterns, and holiday planning.
* Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and customer service standards.
* Handle escalations and problem-solving for delivery issues, route disruptions, and customer complaints.
* Maintain accurate operational reporting, including performance metrics and cost control.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of drivers and operational staff.
* Follow all company policies, including safe driving, roadworthiness, and Working Time guidance.
* Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning and business development initiative.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in operations management within logistics, transport, or distribution.
* The flexibility to be able to deploy to our sites across the region, often at short notice.
* Strong leadership capability with experience managing multi‑site or complex operational environments
* Excellent organisational and planning ability.
* Knowledge of transport compliance, driver regulations, and health & safety standards.
* Proficient in IT systems and handheld technology (route planning, HHT).
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
* All of our staff must pass a basic DBS check.
