Pivt Group are supporting a major organisation within the nuclear and highly regulated engineering sector in the search for a Principal Nuclear Safety Consultant to join their expanding team in Warrington.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nuclear safety professional to lead the development and delivery of complex safety case documentation across a range of nuclear lifecycle projects including operations, decommissioning, waste management and engineering design support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-level nuclear safety consultancy, supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams and helping drive technical excellence across major projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of nuclear safety case documentation across a range of projects
Provide specialist nuclear safety advice within multidisciplinary engineering environments
Produce and review high-quality technical reports, safety justifications and supporting documentation
Ensure deliverables meet client expectations in terms of quality, programme and cost
Support technical governance, verification and compliance activities
Present robust, evidence-based technical arguments in a clear and structured manner
Interface with engineers, human factors specialists and other technical disciplines
Support stakeholder engagement internally and externally with clients and regulators
Guide documents through governance and approval processes
Support business growth activities and identify opportunities for further consultancy support
Requirements
Degree qualified in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline
Minimum 8 years’ experience within nuclear safety, engineering consultancy or highly regulated sectors
Strong understanding of nuclear safety case production methodologies and regulatory frameworks
Ability to work independently and lead within multidisciplinary project teams
Experience in technical checking, verification and quality assurance activities
Strong communication, stakeholder management and report-writing skills
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
Human Factors
Licensing and Regulatory Compliance
Optioneering and Best Practice Assessments
Safety Assessment and Justification
