Senior Accountant (Full-Time, Permanent)

Are you an experienced accountant looking to step into a senior leadership role? We're seeking a Senior Accounting Hire to oversee end-to-end accounting processes, mentor junior staff, and work closely with clients to deliver exceptional service. What You'll Do:
* Accounting Process: Oversee the full accounting cycle for SME clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of corporation accounts.
* Bookkeeping: Supervise bookkeeping tasks, including general ledgers, financial transaction recording, and reconciliations.
* UK Corporation Accounts: Review and sign off corporation accounts in compliance with UK standards and regulations.
* Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering their development and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in service delivery.
* Compliance: Stay ahead of changes in UK accounting standards, ensuring full compliance and advising clients appropriately.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in accounting practices to boost efficiency and accuracy.
* Client Relationships: Maintain and strengthen trusted partnerships with clients, offering proactive support and solutions.
About You:
* ACCA (or equivalent) qualified.
* Client facing experience (essential)
* Minimum 8+ years of current experience with a UK accountancy firm.
* Proven ability to mentor and develop junior staff in general accounting practices.
* Skilled in planning and delivering accounting projects successfully.
* Confident in preparing, reviewing, and signing off:
-Bookkeeping across multiple systems (Sage50, QuickBooks, Xero).
-VAT returns & bank reconciliations.
-Trial balances.
-Corporate accounts & CT600s.
-Payroll & CIS filings.
-Management accounts.
-Due diligence checks when client queries arise.
