About the company
I am currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a renowned automotive technology provider based in Coventry, seeking a Key Account Manager for Connection Systems to join their team.
Position Summary
* The Key Account Manager will drive profitable growth for our client's Connection Systems.
* The successful candidate will build and maintain strong relationships while seeking new business opportunities.
* The candidate will develop and execute account strategies aligned with the CS Global Account Sales Strategies.
* This position reports to the Global Account Director.
* Maintain all current business to ensure customer satisfaction.
Your Role
* Drive growth and profitability strategies within the responsible product lines.
* Actively pursue opportunities to increase market share at customers.
* Act as liaison between OEM customers and the client's Connection Systems; travel as required; lead negotiations; communicate costs and timelines; prepare and deliver customer presentations.
* Lead the Voice of the Customer at the client.
* Manage Requests For Quotations from collecting customer requirements to coordinating activities internally: Product Line managers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, Costing.
* Understanding of QAFs, ED&T Workbook, ESOW, Management of Engineering POs (GIPRs), access to COVISINT Portal, and general timing milestones is advantageous.
* Manage commercial aspects of projects to ensure profitability: sales forecast, pricing, engineering change requests, cash collection in coordination with the Program Manager and Engineering.
* Manage current product sales regarding delivery performance and payments, including overdue resolutions.
* Support products in production: facilitate quality resolution, service, pricing, technology, responsiveness, and performance issues.
* Execute the customer strategy plan for the product lines in responsibility, aligned with overall product line strategies.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer purchasing and engineering organizations.
* Build strong customer relationships through regular contact and meetings, including visits to the customer's location.
* Monitor and coordinate process for charge backs and dues to ensure timely resolution.
* Identify and lead opportunities to improve profitability, e.g., price adjustments, volume increases.
* Collaborate with the worldwide Engineering team; communicate technical requirements and trends.
* Survey market trends to anticipate customer requests.
* Contribute to new technology proposals and support Engineering in developing the product portfolio.
Your Background
* Master's degree in Engineering or Business, with a strong interest in HV and LV automotive connections is advantageous.
* Experience in the automotive industry is required, including international environments and high-stakes negotiations; previous client experience is preferred.
* Excellent organizational and structured work style.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
