Position Summary

As a IT Operations Analyst, you will support the IT team in maintaining and administering Metrea’s IT infrastructure. This is an onsite role, providing hands‑on support to colleagues across the business. You will handle day‑to‑day troubleshooting, user support, and assist with Office 365, Azure, and Intune administration.

You will be expected to act proactively and professionally in addressing IT issues, ensuring colleagues feel supported and confident in using technology.


Role and Responsibilities

* Onsite User Support
o Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support directly to staff onsite (password resets, account management, software installs, hardware setup, AV/meeting room support).
o Deliver clear, friendly, and helpful guidance to users of varying technical ability in a professional manner.
o Proactively identify recurring issues or opportunities for improvement and raise them with senior administrators.
o Escalate complex issues as needed.
* Systems Administration Assistance
o Support Office 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
o Assist with Azure AD user and group management.
o Help maintain device compliance and configuration policies through Intune.
* Device & Infrastructure Management
o Prepare and configure company laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
o Monitor hardware functionality and report potential issues.
o Maintain accurate IT records, asset inventories, and documentation.
* Security & Compliance
o Follow endpoint security practices and assist with patch management.
o Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data protection standards.
* Projects & Continuous Improvement
o Contribute to IT infrastructure projects alongside senior colleagues.
o Research and recommend improvements to systems and workflows.
o Demonstrate a proactive and professional approach to supporting the business and improving IT services.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

* Essential
o Strong knowledge and proven experience delivering 1st and 2nd line IT support in a professional environment.
o Demonstrable experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with Windows operating systems, user accounts, printers, and mobile devices.
o Practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
o Familiarity with Active Directory / Azure Active Directory for user and group management.
o Experience with device deployment and management tools (e.g., Intune, Autopilot, or similar).
o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide clear, professional support to non‑technical users.
o Reliable, proactive, and accountable, with excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
o Eligible and willing to undergo security vetting.
* Desirable
o Hands‑on experience with PowerShell or scripting for routine administrative tasks.
o Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Hyper‑V, VMware).
o Experience supporting audio‑visual (AV) systems and video conferencing platforms.
o Awareness of ITIL practices or structured IT support frameworks.
o Exposure to network fundamentals (switches, Wi‑Fi, firewalls — awareness rather than deep expertise).
o Formal IT certifications such as:
+ CompTIA A+ or Network+
+ Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ‑900)
+ ITIL Foundation
+ Experience with ticketing/helpdesk systems

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time non‑exempt position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on‑call and available, as business needs require. Non‑Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
