A Nursery Growing Manager, with a minimum of 3 years management experience in the agricultural / horticultural sector, is required to join our clients growing team based in Warwickshire.
This is an exciting position for someone hard working, who wishes a career in an outdoor environment, who would enjoy managing skilled horticultural staff, have responsibility for timely horticultural production and be part of the management team for an established business
Our client is a horticultural nursery supplying a range of perennial stock to garden centres nationwide.
Job Responsibilties:
* Timely completion of all nursery production tasks at the most economic cost
* Successful delegation of nursery duties and nursery tasks to staff
* Successful organisation and management of staff
* To keep abreast of R&D within the horticultural industry
* To implement and manage trials and explore new production techniques for continuous nursery improvement
* To maintain a good, a fair and communicated standard of welfare and H&S
Candidate requirements:
* Knowledge and an awareness of horticultural / agricultural crop production
* Work task planning and managing these tasks through to job completion
* Staff planning, staff organisation, staff management and staff motivation abilities
* Practical skills and a practical awareness
* Basic computer skills to enable effective management planning and monitoring
* Work well with and as part of a small management team
