Publicly traded Fintech customer is looking for a seasoned Head of Compliance who will be responsible for managing an effective and appropriate financial-related compliance program, anti-money laundering (AML), and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) for the UK market. This position will be responsible for leading, developing, operating, and maintaining systems and controls to prevent the firm’s products and services from financial crime and risk while meeting FCA regulations. Reducing risks of financial penalty, reporting to regulators, and training employees on compliance-related matters.
The position reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and will be managing a small team.
AS HEAD OF COMPLIANCE YOU WILL:
AML and CTF:
* Overall responsibility for the effective financial-related compliance, anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) systems and controls in the UK.
* Implementing FCA regulations
* Maintaining and developing the risk-based approach to AML and CTF arrangements - carrying out regular assessments of the adequacy of systems and controls to ensure that risks are managed effectively
* Ensuring the compliance program is up to date, both in relation to regulatory changes, as well as new products and services in the group.
* Managing the process of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
Compliance:
* Ensure that the business has effective systems, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with FCA requirements as an Electronic Money Institution (“EMI”).
* Develop and maintain policies and procedures that support the compliance program.
* Liaison with the Group Corporate Compliance, and report Financial Services’ compliance risks and potential violations to the Group Corporate Compliance.
* Run regular monitoring, report the results to the Group Corporate Compliance, and assist in elaborating, further implementation, and supervision over the remediation activities.
Requirements:
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* Bachelor's degree/master's degree in law or related fields.
* FCA certified - a must
* Experience as a compliance officer/manager, from a fintech or financial institution - a must
* 6-10 yr experience in Compliance Regulatory Affairs, AML/CFT in the UK.
* Experience in developing and administrating internal controls and processes.
* People management experience - preferable
* Strong business acumen.
* Experience in the fields of transaction monitoring, fraud detection, investigations, peer-group analysis, and AML/CFT.
* Excellent business partnering skills and capability to lead change in challenging areas
