The Role
As Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – Hydraulics, you will interpret medical device requirements and be responsible for innovative design development.
You will develop complex CAD geometries and oversee digital simulations.
You will work within a multidisciplinary R&D team to deliver manufacturable medical devices.
* Design hydraulic actuator systems, including valves and motor control solutions, per technical specifications.
* Create and evaluate detailed CAD geometries, demonstrating accurate design intentions, simulating dynamic motion, limits/fits, and defining manufacturing methods.
* Liaise with Systems Engineering and clinical partners to capture user requirements, executing work packages within verification and validation procedures.
* Develop and maintain risk management documentation (ISO 14971).
* Participate in design and project review meetings, presenting technical data and recommendations.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation compliant with ISO 13485, FDA, and MDR requirements.
* Analyze technical requirements, evaluate approaches, and support technology, material, and component selection.
Candidate Requirements
Key Skills & Experience:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* Proven experience with CAD software.
* Experience in safety-critical or highly regulated industries.
* Extensive experience designing hydraulic actuator systems.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable to a fast-paced matrix organization.
