What you'll be doing
* Deliver one-to-one counselling sessions to pupils within a school environment (primary and/or secondary)
* Work collaboratively with pastoral and safeguarding staff to ensure student wellbeing
* Maintain clear and accurate clinical records in line with confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
* Support the development of a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive school environment
* Identify when further support or referral is required and follow appropriate escalation procedures
What we're looking for
* A qualified counsellor with a
Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling (or equivalent)
* Registration with BACP, UKCP, NCS or equivalent (or working towards accreditation)
* Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or youth setting
* Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
* Ability to work independently and professionally within school environments
* Membership of the
PVG Scheme
(or willingness to join before commencing work)
* Access to your own transport
to travel to and from school sites across Central Scotland
