The Technical Support Officer plays a key role in keeping our ISO technical operations running smoothly. You’ll support the Technical team with day-to-day activity, including managing application review approvals, conducting preliminary report checks, coordinating recertification planning reviews, and arranging accreditation-body witnessed assessments for our auditors. What that means day to day Conduct preliminary checks of audit reports Review incoming applications to determine risk, audit duration, and auditor competence Review incoming mid-cycle contract reviews Liaising with UKAS to arrange required auditor witness assessments Handle customer queries outside of the certification cycle to ensure ongoing adherence to compliance requirements Assist with resource allocation and audit planning Support the sales teams with complex quotes, this includes attending customer meetings as a technical advisor Ad-hoc responsibilities as required by the Technical Team Manager What you’ll need to be successful Essential: Strong analytical and risk-based decision-making abilities, effectively applying both theoretical insights and practical experience. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to engage effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Cross-functional collaboration expertise, seamlessly working across teams and departments to achieve shared objectives. Team-oriented mindset, thriving in dynamic environments while working collaboratively with others. Desirable: Experience with ISO management system standards (such as Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety). ISO Foundation or Internal Auditor qualifications (e.g., ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001). Knowledge of ISO 17021 and/or ISO 17065 requirements. Understanding of information security and energy management system standards. Working knowledge of the certification industry, with awareness of key processes, trends, and best practices.
