We are looking for an enthusiastic assistant psychologist to join our thriving psychology service.

This full-time post is within our large department and provides a clinical psychology role to our general outpatient team, with a focus on gastroenterology and general paediatric clinical areas.

St George's Hospital is one of London's largest children's hospitals, hosting the only paediatric intensive care unit in South West London and one of four paediatric trauma units in London. It is also a centre of excellence in foetal medicine and among the top three centres for specialist paediatric surgery in London. Psychology plays a key role within children's services, embedded within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, family-integrated care.

The Paediatric Psychological Therapies Team is a large, friendly, and expanding service comprising clinical psychologists, family therapists, mental health practitioners, assistant psychologists, trainees, and administrators. Our service supports both inpatient and outpatient populations across various specialties, offering many CPD opportunities and clinical skill development.

The main responsibilities include:

* Enhancing psychological health services for children with paediatric conditions and their families/caregivers as a member of the Paediatric Psychological Therapies Service.
* Supporting the gastroenterology and general paediatric work.
* Providing psychological assessment and screening of children with specific health conditions under supervision.
* Managing independent workload following a plan, under supervision, within the service policies.
* Participating in group education programs under supervision.
* Assisting in administration, audits, data collection, research projects, teaching, and other work within the service.
* Contributing to the development of clinical resources, leaflets, and workbooks.
